I am going broke! (click here)

I was driving down the road the other day along with my two year old daughter, I started to hear her getting into something.  I looked back to see her leaning out of her seat and into a brown shopping bag.  OK, she’s not safe anymore and about to make a mess at the same time!

So like any good parent would do,  I reached back while still driving and snatched that bag out of her hand!  I expected some screaming and crying.   But what I heard was,  ”Thank you dad!”   I am thinking,  ”Thank you, for What?”   It was Like she was saying,  ”Whatever daddy just did was for my best,  so thanks!”

Thanking God no matter what; destroys the work of the devil and shows God you really do trust Him!  Before long the devil will be saying,  ”I am going broke!  Every time I get near this person they thank God!”  It would be like if every time you ate ice cream you gained fifty pounds instantly?  Would you keep eating it?  I doubt it!  I doubt the devil would continually hang around a thankful person either!

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.   1st Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)

Lord, teach me how to be more thankful and in turn defeat the evil one!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!” And never live life the same!

Qualified! (click here)

I love the fact that the Lord always has the desire  in His heart to forgive me when I mess up.  Actually one of the Lord’s goals is to forgive us!  He went through a lot to do it and He’s just is waiting on us!

He allowed His own creation to beat Him and then to crucify Him.  He tells us in His word that because of that beating we can be forgiven! We all sin and make mistakes, but not all of us confess and receive His mercy. The bible says,  “If we.”

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1st John 1:9 (NIV)

Thats’ God’s word, not mine.  He says if we confess our sins He will be faithful to us and forgive us.   He will also be just, meaning He doesn’t overlook our sins.  No, He punishes them.  Oh He punished our sins alright,  through the beating of Jesus Christ!

Remaining sinless under intense temptation and then nailed to a cross,  qualified Jesus to be the payment for our punishment!

Have you fallen for the devil’s trap of believing you can’t be forgiven?  It’s a lie!  God says if you confess and ask Him for forgiveness your sin will be dealt with,   on the cross!

“Lord,  teach me how much You went through just so You can say,  your forgiven!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

What do you mean God can’t? (click here)

My doctor said,  ”Wow that looks a lot better!”  But after I told him I prayed and the Lord removed a boil that was on my leg,  he seemed upset.  He said,  ”It could still come back!”   Maybe so and I know it’s God’s choice who He heals and who He doesn’t.  But I am not going to be the one telling God what He can and can’t do!

My faith on the other hand can!  What?  You can tell God what He can’t do?   Can you imagine that statement?  God can’t do something,  the Ruler of the universe who supplied me with my riding lawn mower,  two adopted children with the same birthday!  And so much more!  You mean that God?

What God can and can’t do or rather what He won’t do!  Is determined by our faith or a lack of it! God is crystal clear on that point,  telling us for sure that an absence of faith will always result in an absence of a miracle.  And that’s Always!

Jesus Himself was performing many miracles until He went back to His home town and that’s when a lack of faith shut Him down!

And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.  Matthew 13:58 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me about faith,  how to develop it and apply it properly to my life in way that pleases You.  Amen”

If you ask God to teach you, you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

You’ll allow this? (click here)

Why did a man of God like Samson self destruct?  Why did King David commit adultery and then murder?  Why do people get divorced,  Why are people in debt today?

The Lord always wants the best for us, but  if we choose less than His best,  God will allow it.  The world we live in today wants less than God’s best and God is allowing it!  God will allow anyone to reject Him,  reject His way and reject His best!    But what about you?  Do you want God’s best or less?  You can have either one, but it will be your choice.

God’s goal is to for you to enjoy Him as a Father,  He longs to teach how to live the best life you can!  But He won’t do it unless you allow Him.  Don’t worry about not knowing how to do it,  that’s God’s job!  He loves you and is waiting for you to start asking how.  When you do your giving Him permission to work in your life.  When you say things like,  ”Lord teach me!”  Your automatically allowing God to give you His best!

This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.  Isaiah 48:17  (NIV)

“Lord,  forgive me for rejecting Your best, teach me how to enjoy You instead!   Amen!”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

The logistics dept. (click here)

When the Marines go on a mission they are fully supported by the United States of America. If they need more ammo, more food or more clothing they get it. And they get it from the logistics dept., supplied and paid for by the USA.

Those Marines are not doing their own will, but the will of them that sent them, the USA.  They are performing the orders of the government they serve and in turn everything that America has is backing those Marines.

You’ll be living a powerful life when you learn to do God’s will and everything heaven has to offer,  angels and all,  will be backing you!  Now that’s powerful!

You’re going to get some resistance,  just like the Marines do.  Satan is always in opposition to God’s will,  always.  If it’s God’s will for your marriage to improve and it is,  do you think the devil is just going to lay down?

God’s will was for Israel to enter into the promise land,  that was God’s goal,  His desire.  Did they have any resistance? Yes they did,  but guess what?  Heaven fully supported them and eventually they made it,  you will to when you do His will!

“When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. Luke 22:35 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me how to perform your will in my life and upon the earth!  Amen.”

If you ask God to teach, you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

The wrong thing to be a success at! (click here)

We were on a family vacation and just needed to recharge for a few.  But all I can hear is my six year old slapping the bed and making noises.  Every now and then I would hear a little,  ”I want to go to the pool.”

She was trying her best to end our nap, so we would take her to the pool.  But it was having the reverse effect, we were so tired and getting a little upset with her attempts to wake us up.  Granted, she is only six, but even a six year old can use manipulation in an effort to get what they want.  She surely was not trusting us when we told her we would take her to the pool later.

Today she was complaining,  in the past trusting!   She even prayed on her last birthday for it to stop raining and it did!  Everyone at the party was so surprised.  But if not careful, we can move in a split second,  from trusting to complaining!  It’s the wrong thing to be a success at!

Become a succsess at trusting the Lord today, for God knows when we are really trusting Him, and He responds to it every time!

The LORD is good,  A stronghold in the day of trouble;  And He knows those who trust in Him.  Nahum 1:7 (NKJV)

“Lord, teach me how to properly trust You. Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

Now who surprised who? (click here)

I wanted to do something special for God one time, like buying Him a jacket.  OK I know,  He knows everything,  every move I make and every breath I take!  I still wanted to try and surprise Him though.

I thought,  ”What can I do that would surprise the Lord on Fathers day?”  I did something so small that was just between the Lord and I. And in my heart I said, “Lord that was for You, happy Fathers day!”

My wife and I were shopping around for a plastic play set for our daughter.  Three days after the surprise thing,  I was headed home from work and noticed one of those play sets out in front of a home.  It had a sign on it that said,  ”free!”  Now who surprised who?

Listen,  that was the farthest thing from my mind and the Lord knew it!   I really just wanted to buy Him a jacket.  We may not ever surprise the Lord,  but we can try!   It doesn’t matter what it is, it may just be a cup of water!  The key is why you’re doing it.

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 11:16 (NKJV)

“Lord, teach me how to do something special for You by doing it for someone else.  I love You Father!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

Just who is God good to? (click here)

Just who is God good to anyway?  Have you ever heard the statement, “God is good?” And the reply?  ”All the time!”

The Lord is good to those who depend on Him,  to those who search for Him.  Lamentations 3:35 (NLT)

I remember one time I was in the back yard and had to rake all the leaves up.  I began to ask God what was the best way to do it, the fasted most wisest way.  And yes just to rake the leaves!

He showed me ways I would have never thought of and I busted that back yard out in no time, using my riding lawn mower and a blue tarp.  I have learned that the Lord truly is good to those that depend on Him.  After a while and with practice, it’ll become second nature.

When a person learns this they also begin to enjoy God as a Father, it’s just the natural result.  Why?  Because God is good to those who depend on Him!

To many people are not experiencing the Lord today and why?  No depending equals no experience!  But what about you,  do you want never live life the same?  Dependence is the vehicle that will cause it to happen for you.  Start today and before you know it,  you’ll be enjoying Him as a Father!

“Lord teach me how to depend on you as a child depends on a parent, amen!”

If you ask God to teach you, you’ll be always be able to say later, “God taught me!”

Lead me out! (click here)

Have you ever thought about what Jesus told us to pray?  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.   Matthew 6:13 (NIV)

How often do we really pray that? “Lord,  lead me out of temptation and deliver me from the evil one.”  We need to ask why?  Why is God telling us to pray that specific request?  Does He know something we don’t?

The Lord knows what we are all prone to fall into and He knows that the evil is going to attack us with some type of enticement.  So God combats that with giving us some powerful advice, PRAY!  And pray that we are not lead into temptation and that we would be delivered from evil.

Just think about this God;  who knows everything, including what what we need,  is highly recommending that we pray not to be lead into any trap from Satan.  And that we would actually pray to be delivered from evil.

But are we taking His advice?  How many people do you know that are asking that?  Why don’t we change the stats in heaven today and shut down the evil one with one simple prayer!  Let’s starting asking to be lead out!

“Lord thank You for giving me advice and teach me about temptation,  show me how to pray about it, amen!”

If you ask God to teach you, you’ll be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

One of Satan’s greatest tricks! (click here)

I have processed a few crime scenes and always hated suicides the most.  I knew suicide was one of Satan’s greatest tricks and I always felt,  ”Boy if this person only knew the truth of how much potential they would of had in Christ!”

I knew from experience that a person could go from sleeping on the street, to sleeping in the White House!  There is so much potential for any life when they connect with the Lord!  The NFL might have a salary cap, but you don’t have a potential cap!  Not when you give your life to the Lord!  The bible says that God will forgive you of any sin and then adopts you as His own. ( See Ephesians 1:5)   Forgiveness and adoption, that’s a powerful combination!  Then instead of falling for one of Satan’s lies,  you learn to overcome him!

14I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 1st  John 2:14 (NIV)

Folks who have been adopted by God,  then place His word in their hearts and learn to rely on Him for everything,  become strong!  Maybe not in physical strength, but spiritual strength which matters most when dealing with Satan!

“Lord teach me to be strong in You and show me how to overcome the evil one, amen!”

If you ask God to teach you, you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”
