Not worried about a thing! (click here)

No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only He has seen the Father.  John 6:46 (NIV)

When Jesus walked the face of the earth He didn’t worry about to much, He never ran, was never in a rush and was at complete peace.  Jesus knew who had sent Him!  He had seen what the angels, the demons and Satan himself had seen, the Father!  And therefore He wasn’t worried about a thing!

No earth and blood vessel had ever seen God, except in the form of Jesus Christ.  Our bodies can’t handle God’s true glory this side of heaven.  Why even Moses only saw the back of God and after that they put a cover over his face because he was shining like the sun!  Angels bow in reverence and demons tremble in God’s presence.

If you worried right now, don’t be.  Look up at the stars, remember God was never created, but is the creator!  That He always was and always will be!  He loves you and is for you, not against you.  If we only knew who God really was, how awesome He really is, what He really looks like, we would be like Jesus and not worried about a thing!

“Lord, teach me to really know who You are and not worry about a thing!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

No a thousand times! (click here)

Ever watch a pitcher when he’s on the mound?  His catcher is giving him all kinds of signals as to what to throw next.  Sometimes it seems like a pitcher will shake his head no a thousand times before the catcher gives him a signal he’s comfortable with.

That’s how we have to be when it comes to our thoughts.  Sometimes we have to shake our head no a thousands times until that thought goes away!  A successful life starts with obeying God’s word, your thoughts will tend to battle against that.  We have to learn to say no to destructive thoughts that don’t line up with God’s holy word.

You may have the thought that no one cares, that no one loves you or that you’ll never make it, that’s a lie according to the word of God!  But unless we choose to believe His word, it does us no good and thoughts that are lies can ruin our lives.

Learn to filter all your thoughts through the word of God and in time nothing will be able to shake you!  You’ll become like King David, doing exactly what God wanted him to do when God wanted him to do it!

……….and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2nd Corinthians 10:5  (NIV)

“Lord, teach me how to take my thoughts captive and filter them through You word.  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

A continual feast! (click here)

The most powerful thing anyone can do at any time is please the Lord,  hands down.  A life pleasing to God is a life that can’t be held back and is blessed.  But it sure does seem that everything out there today is designed for us to do the opposite.  Take one of life’s curve balls, we all get them from time to time, but how we react when they come is the question.

When life slaps you in the face your next step is an important one.  You can either react like most folks do and cause more problems.  You could dig deeper into trouble or you do the most powerful thing in the world and please the Lord.

One way for us to do that is to be thankful, thankfulness is extremely pleasing to the Lord and it’s talked about through out His word.  In order to do that, you’ll need to stay focused on one simple goal, “No matter what I going to find a way to please God!”  If you do that your going to live a different life than most folks!  You’ll be thankful, pleasing to the Lord and enjoying a continual feast in your heart!

All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15  (NIV)

“Lord, teach me to how to have a continual feast in my heart no matter what!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

How did I get here? (click here)

“I was in the boxing ring and the next thing I know my face is on the mat!  And I am thinking, how did I get here?”  That was a story my boss was sharing with me at lunch one day.  He had me laughing,  explaining how he was pretty good with his hands and all.  But that day in the ring he wound up face down on the mat and said he was thinking,  ”How in the world did that happen!”

Unfortunately it happens all to often with our relationship with God.  We start out strong, praying and seeing God move powerfully in our lives, then out of no ware something distracts our attention and ultimately steals our joy?  Sometimes it slowly creeps in and before you know it your saying, “How did I get here?”

If that’s you right now your not alone, it happens to the best of us.  Just ask the Lord to do a work in your heart today and before you know it you’ll be back on your feet again!

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12 (NIV)

“Lord, revive me and teach me how to stay close to You, enjoying every moment we spend together!  Amen.”

It’s worth every penny! (click here)

Never was a time when God failed to respond to humility and repentance, never!  King Ahab was one of the most wicked kings ever and he was married to Jezebel, the most evil woman in all the bible!  Yet when Ahab humbled himself God took note, even after all the wickedness he had done.

25 (There was never a man like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, urged on by Jezebel his wife. 26 He behaved in the vilest manner by going after idols, like the Amorites the LORD drove out before Israel.)

27 When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted. He lay in sackcloth and went around meekly.

28 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite: 29“Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day, but I will bring it on his house in the days of his son.”  1st Kings 21:25-29 (NIV)

True humility brings powerful mercy!  God loves humility, therefore it’s worth every penny to gain it.  And there is an easier way, ask the Lord to teach us how to walk in humility before He has to react towards any pride in our lives.

“Lord, it obvious You love humility, so please teach me how to walk in it.  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

The new CEO! (click here)

Joshua was picked to lead a whole nation after the death of Moses. The first board meeting was called into order and only a few instructions were given to the new CEO.

5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

6 “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Joshua 1:5-8 (NIV)

God’s word for you hasn’t changed!  I am with you so don’t be scared,  instead be strong!  Obey My word, so you will be successful!  Install it in your heart, by thinking on it day and night.  Then My child you will obey it, becoming successful wherever you go and bringing glory to My Name!

“Oh Lord, teach how to obey Your Holy word, so I can be successful and bring You glory!  Amen.”

The key to victory! (click here)

Victory is spelled, P-L-A-N!  Many military, law enforcement, marriage, health and financial victories have been accomplished by a good by plan and good Godly advice.  Could you imagine if we approached our lives the same way?  What if we took the time to develop a plan to have a better prayer life?  Wow who does that?  Actually writing it out, praying over it and asking God for wisdom.  Do you think He would bless it?  He would, because planning is the key to victory and it’s biblical!

I have a habit of flying by the seat of my pants most of the time!  But I discovered when I seek God to develop a plan He always blesses it.  I’ve done it with my finances by seeking God first, then writing a detailed plan.  My wife and I then took that plan to a trusted financial counselor, where we sought some clarity.  Now if we follow it, victory will be the end result.  Don’t just make a plan though, ask God for a plan!  That’s so key!  Seek God first, wait on Him,  then put it on paper and watch what happens!

“All this,” David said, “I have in writing from the hand of the LORD upon me, and He gave me understanding in all the details of the plan.”  1st Chronicles 28:19  (NIV)

“Lord, teach me to be a better planner so I can bring more glory to Your Name!  Amen.”

Hey watch the salt! (click here)

Yesterday I watched my six year old pound some sea salt on her eggs.  ”Hey watch the salt!” I said to her, as I gabbed the salt from her and then used it myself!  I am so glad Jesus is not like that, He doesn’t ask us to do anything that He hasn’t done already.  He wouldn’t grab the salt, tell me not to use it and then put it on His own eggs!  It’s not the old do as I say, not as I do with the Him.

No sir,  the Lord leads us by example and if He tells us to die to our selfish motives, to pray, walk in love, to forgive or some other instruction, you can take it to the bank Jesus has already done it!  The Lord is asking each one of us to follow Him and  it’s a little easier knowing He’s been there and done that!

Have you ever followed some one or some thing else that has lead you to a dead end?  Are you tired and ready for a change  in your life?  Leave those things behind and start fresh by following the Savior!  Jesus will always lead you to safety, just follow Him!

But Jesus told him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” Matthew 8:22 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me how to follow You for the rest of my days!  Amen.”

Resting in the lap of fools (click here)

A person has no limit when it comes to God, you can take any life and see it blossom tremendously just by teaching them to obey and rely on the Lord!  I’ve seen many lives turn around for the good, lives that were shattered and now are unbelievable testimonies!  Trusting and obeying God is the fastest way out of any rut.  But I have seen one emotion hinder so many folks, it actually prevents them from becoming all that God wants them to be and that one emotion is anger.

When we get angry our hearts tend to get hard, then we won’t listen to reason, wisdom or the word of God!  Anger stops us from submitting to the word of God, which always provides blessing and protection.

David was considered a man after God’s own heart and the Lord blessed David.   Acts 13:22 tells us David did what God wanted him to do.   Anger will shut that process down faster than you know what hit you!  No wonder God considers an angry person a fool!  If Satan can get you to have a hard heart your done!  So be aware of anger, look at it as poison and then work extra hard to get rid of it!

Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me how to overcome anger and reach my potential instead!  Amen.”

My only regret! (click here)

The other night we had communion at our church, I was sitting by myself and just started thinking about what Jesus had done for me.  All the things I had done wrong in the past and how He forgave me by taking that beating for me.  I became so emotional thinking about Him,  it was truly a special night for me.  My only regret is I wish I always thought about His forgiveness like that!  You know what I mean?  Not a fake thing, but thanksgiving straight from the bowels of my heart, all for what He has done for me!

That’s one of my goals to more thankful for the forgiveness I have received, not to take it for granted.  The honeymoon should never end between us and the Lord, we should always rejoice and remember what He has done.  Heaven rejoiced when we came to Christ, let’s keep it going by thinking and remembering what we have been forgiven of!  Are you with me?

41“Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” Luke 7:41-42 (NIV)

……………….. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”  Luke 7:47 (NIV)

“Lord,  teach me how to be more thankful for Your forgiveness.  Amen.”
