I picturing me trying to cheer up the Lord, as if I actually had to do that. What if that was my truly my assignment, what would I say to Him?

My hands behind my back, “Are You ready Lord,  I am about to give you something that is going to make You feel great, are You ready?”  Out with the hands yelling, “Surprise! Here it is!  What is it You ask? It’s a big old pile of Thanks!”

“Yup I am giving You thanks Lord for all that You do for me,  thanks You Father, I am grateful just to know You and I am grateful for who You are and I am sure thankful for how You always, always  take care of me!”  ”So Lord here it is, thank You!”

Actually if God’s your Dad via His adoption plan, Jesus Christ, then that is your assignment! Fulfil your assignment and enjoy the thought of making God smile as you do!

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love
and His wonderful deeds for men,

Psalm 107:8  (NIV)

A Continual Feast! (click here)

Your probably going to be feasting tomorrow like the rest of us, good times with friends and family!  But did you know the bible says we can have a continual feast?  It does and not just on thanksgiving either,  but all the time!

All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.  Proverbs 15:15  (NIV)

Who ever has a merry heart, a thankful heart,  always has a continual feast!  Man that’s powerful!  So no matter what may be going on around you, if your thankful,  it’s going to look like a feast to you!  It’s always going to be good from your perspective, from your view!  Wow, what can the devil or anyone else for that matter do with a thankful person?  Not much!

“Lord, teach me to always have a cheerful heart no matter what!  Thank You Father,  amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

Who’s Matthew? (click here)

You may be the smallest of the small or the least of the least!  You may not know a single verse in the bible or where to even find the table of contents.  You may just have been adopted by God and recently come to know Him as your Father, but don’t have a clue how this whole thing works!

If that’s you welcome, because that was me!  When I first came to know who the Lord really was I attended a bible study and when the teacher asked everyone to turn to the book of Matthew I was like,”What?”  I looked at my wife and said,  ”Who’s Matthew?”

Yes Sir that was good stuff!  God truly works with beginners and a beginner can glorify God just as powerful as anybody can! Oh yea  just by being thankful!  Did you know that by being thankful to God you actually brings glory to Him?

In heaven you can go from zero to hero, simply by being thankful. And it’s regardless of what you know and regardless of your past!  Start thanking the Lord today and bring glory to His name!  You may regret a lot of things, thanking God is so powerful it won’t be one of them!

I will praise God’s name in song
and glorify Him with thanksgiving.  Psalm 69:30 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me how to bring glory to Your Holy name by being thankful!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

The Proper Approach! (click area)

One time I was asked to give a power point presentation to a Superior officer, first I meet with the administrative staff and then was told to wait until I was called into the meeting.

When meeting certain people of a certain rank or position we want to look good and speak well don’t we?  We truly want to be our best, we want to be on our “A” game!   We need the proper approach, which is to be respectful, humble and thankful!

It’s no different with God, who happens to be above any one person or position!  And for us to be on our “A” game with Him we also need the proper approach!  So just how do we enter His presence, what is the most powerful way to approach the Lord?

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.   Psalm 100:4 (NIV)

Approaching the Lord with thanksgiving and praise is powerful!  Learn to do that and your life can’t help but change!

“Lord, teach me how to be more thankful, show me just how powerful it is!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

How powerful it really is! (click here)

Praising God is one of the most powerful things any one person can do, hands down!  When I say praising Him, I am talking about thanking and telling the Lord just how special He is to you.  Praise is so powerful that there have been times in the bible when God’s instruction to Israel was to do nothing but praise Him!  Then God told them He would take care of their enemies and He did!

You may be going through something right now and you may even need a break through.  But what you really need is to start praising the Lord!  Don’t wait until you see victory, no praise and thank the Lord now, on this side of your battle!

It’s as simple as this, the enemy of your soul hates praise and does everything in his power to stop it!  So what should you do?  Learn to thank God no matter what and watch what happens!

As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.  2ND Chronicles 20:22 (NIV)

“Lord, teach me about praise and just how powerful it really is!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

By Surprise! (click here)

How can you catch a demon by surprise?  Well for starters not many of us are waking up praising the Lord, were usully in a rush, in fear or worried about something every waking moment.  But could you just imagine what it would look like if every morning folks woke up praising and thanking God?  Talk about the worst moment of the day!  That would drive those demons nuts and at the same time please the Lord, who is always worthy of praise!

You have to become determined to do this and not to let anything steal your praise. Oh, it’s not always going to be easy,  but then nothing powerful ever is!   A good time to start is when our eyes open and when there ready to close!

And each morning and evening they stood before the Lord to sing songs of thanks and praise to Him.

1st Chronicles 23:30 (NLT)

“Lord, teach me how to not let anything steal my praise for You!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

Wow, you ready for this? (click here)

How much does God really love you?  Ever given that much thought?  He loves you so much He placed His own body on a cross so that you and I could be forgiven and adopted by Him!  How much does God really love you?  Wow, you ready for this?  Just as much as He loves Jesus,  He loves you!  And that’s no joke!

I am in them and You are in Me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me.   John 17:23  (NLT)

“Lord, take the blinders off my eyes and heart, so You can teach me the truth about Your unconditional love.  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

One powerful rep! (click here)

It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.  Hebrews 11:5  (NLT)

That brother was something wasn’t he?  Taken off the face of the earth without seeing death!  Enoch was said to have a reputation, what was it?  That he pleased God!  That’s what Enoch was known for, pleasing God.  That’s one powerful rep!

Your known for something,  what is it?  And what will it be a year from now?  Let it become something powerful by consistently praying this prayer!

“Lord, teach me how to be like Enoch, pleasing You with every breath I take!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

Your biggest fan! (click here)

David was a King who was blessed by God and David wasn’t perfect, but boy was he special in God’s sight!  That’s where I want to be, I want to bless the Lord like David did.  It’s to late for me to be perfect, I blew that record a long time ago.  However I can still strive to be someone special, someone who has become very close to the Lord and so can you!

No matter what we have done or where we are right now, the bible tells us the blood of Jesus is good enough to cleanse us from all sin!  That’s a powerful truth, especially if you’ve been feeling like a failure lately!  That means a fresh start today for anyone who is humble enough to ask God to forgive them, most folks tend to forget that God’s a forgiver and their biggest fan!

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.  Ephesians 2:13 (NIV)

“Lord, forgive me for my past and give me a fresh start today.  Teach me why You desire to forgive me and how you long to be my Father!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”

Open my eyes! (click here)

Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.  Psalm 119:18  (NKJV)

Simple prayer, powerful results!  If only I would take the time and really pound the pavement praying prayers like that!  Could you imagine where you’d be, if everyday you asked God to open your eyes and see great things from His word?  I wonder what we would see different, I wonder how it would affect our lives?

The next time you open your bible picture light bursting forth from the pages back to heaven, because that’s probably what it looks like to the angels, and then ask God to open your eyes so you can see things you never saw before!

“Lord, teach me to see things in your word that will change my life!  Amen.”

Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”
