In order to see God more clearly, sometimes it’s best not to help Him. We can get into the way of what the Lord wants to do if we try to manipulate the circumstance. Were so used to doing things our way and in our own power that we can forget to let God be God.
Uzzah learned that the hard way when he tried to help God be God. Uzzah wasn’t supposed to touch the ark, which was holy and set apart for the Lord. God would have protected it Himself and received every ounce of the glory.
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the ark of God.
2 Samuel 6:6-7 (NIV)
What are you doing today that God alone should be doing? Are you moving ahead of the Lord? Are you fully trusting Him to work something out for you? Be Careful your not going to work it out by force or by your power.
Oh I’ve done that and I learned it’s far better to let God be God!
“Lord, what is it that I am not allowing You to do for me, teach me Lord so I can get out of Your way! Amen.”
Ask God to teach you and you’ll always be able to say later, “God Taught Me!”
